Child–Pugh
Five clinical and laboratory criteria describing cirrhosis severity.
Child–Pugh
Principle
Assessment of cirrhosis severity in adults using five clinical and laboratory criteria.
Scope
Cirrhosis in adults; local restriction ≥18 years. INR version, without a specific adaptation for cholestatic disease.
Interpretation limits
Describes cirrhosis severity. The class provides neither an individual survival probability nor an automatic indication for treatment, transplantation or discharge. Assess all five criteria in a coherent clinical context; a missing value suspends the total.
Formula and logic
Sum of the five contributions; total from 5 to 15.
